Remote Key Fob Programming...
     State of the art equipment and software allow us to be able to program a variety of genuine MG and Rover security systems and key fobs. There are 2 main types of key fob used on the MG Rover systems, Infra Red and Radio Frequency. The latter is the most popular. Infra red systems were mainly used on older models, like the Rover 600 and 800 series, and are easy to identify as normally they have an LED on the fob that lights up when a button is pressed. Also, there will be a clear red window on the top edge of the fob, similar to your tv remote at home. Programming this kind of system requires use of Rovers Test-book equipment and the relevant software. It is also worth noting that second hand fobs are not able to be re-programmed to a car unless the fob is in very good condition, AND, the original barcode that was supplied with the fob at the factory from new, and even then it is pot luck.
     Radio frequency remote fobs work in a similar way to a remote controlled toy car. These are cheaper to manufacture and more efficient then infra red, so most modern MG and Rover models were fitted with them. Unlike the infra red system they are easily reprogrammable to a different car (dependant on condition), and do not require the barcode logging system.

ECU Testing and Repair...
    We offer complete in house testing and repair of most MG Rover engine control units, as well as keeping a wide range on the shelf. From Rovers early M.E.M.S (Modular Engine Managment System), right up to Bosch Diesel units and the latest Motorola and Siemens control units. Our equipment allows us to extract security codes from certain ECU's and code up new ones. This means we can diagnose ECU faults and supply new ones to the customer without having the car on site, just the ECU.
